Security Acronyms

 

IPsec means Internet Protocol SECurity

IPsec is a framework of open and standard technologies used to ensure private and secure communications over IP networks.

ISAKMP  means Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol

ISAKMP is a framework for authentication and key exchange and is designed to be key exchange independent.

IKE  means Internet Key Exchange

IKE is the protocol used to set up a security association (SA) in the IPsec protocol framework.
